Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have officially deleted my smugmug account. I’ve had it since 26 September 2004, and it had been useful and enjoyable, but I just don’t see a use for it anymore (what with the rise of Facebook, Picasaweb and Flickr). Smugmug is an awesome photo hosting web service, but it is just too pro for social snapshots.

I’m quite sad that my memories are gone now (the captions and album descriptions), but at least I have the pictures still in my comp.

I’m totally zoning out in my Business Ethics lecture.

I shall blog about how awesome drop.io is! You can share files (pictures!!) and collaborate and even chat with each other on that website, with NO registration required!

It’s nifty, but it does have an upload limit of 100MB, but I’m not complaining since anything more than that is going to frustrate you when uploading anyways. Besides, you can always make more drops! Go to the website to see what I mean!

This blog feels abandoned.

I think I do not want to renew my Smugmug account. Who thinks I should keep it?

First week of school made me feel like a total noob. Already on the first day, I took the wrong shuttle bus. WHAT KIND OF A YEAR 3 LOSER takes the wrong shuttle bus?? And then I had this philo class which was… traumatising, to say the least. Philo classes are usually filled with geeks and the occasional vocal person that is quite easy to ignore (it comes with years of training). But in this class, practically everyone speaks up and the tutor is the sort that will laugh at you if you say something stupid! And you can’t hide at the back of the class because there are only about 20 students in it. I was planning to drop this module (I dropped his module last semester) but I decided that I have to live through this. Also, I spilt coffee on the person sitting next to me in my other philo lecture. How KENTZ CAN I BE RIGHT? All this on the first day seh.

And the thing about being a Year 3 student, I realised, is that you begin to know lesser people in school. All the familiar faces have already graduated, and you can’t differentiate the freshies from the Year 2 undergrads. To prove the point, I didn’t bump into anyone I know when I walked from the deck to the library please! How can I not bump into anyone?! I used to say hi to, at least on average, 3 people along the AS1 highway every time last academic year!

Okay uhm.

These are the modules I got:

PH2219 Critical Theory and Hermeneutics (doing with Yu Jin and Chris Siew Hua)
PH2302 Chinese Philosophical Traditions I (doing with Chris Siew Hua)
PH3230 Normative Ethical Theory (the traumatising class, not doing with anyone, lonelyboy86)
PH3210 Philosophy of Language
GEK1025 Reading Visual Images (doing with 2 HOT GERS Charmaine Tan Si Min and Wei Fen Lee)

I realised later that I have got tutorial clashes and I have to drop either Chinese Philosophical Traditions, Philo of Language, or The Traumatising Class. But I really want to do Chinese philosophy, so I shall risk dropping one of the level 3000 mods. This means I have to do three level 3000 modules next semester, and I’m quite worried about that.

PH3210 has a lecturer I don’t particularly enjoy (though I am being biased, he was forced to teach LOGIC last semester, how interesting can that get?) and I am quite afraid of the 50% essay and 50% final exam distribution, and also because if I do PH3210, I would not be able to go for the same tutorial class as Charms for GEK1025, so I’m dropping this. I shall brave The Traumatising Class. Ah Charms, what am I getting myself into.

The Traumatising Class is filled with loudmouths and almost everyone there twitches like the BK auntie I swear! And there are tests every week and yeah the instructor can be a bitch. And I hate to speak up in class, especially a philo class where the tendency for you to say something stupid is like 89% and you know when I say something stupid I go on a roll so… not good.

So yeah what I’m appealing for is:

PH2218 Business Ethics

which is filled with business and econs students annnddd I dunno why but there seem to be a lot of really old people in this class. Graduate students? Someone tell me! How to fight with them like this! In any case I hope my appeal gets through. If not I really don’t know what to do because there really aren’t any other modules that I can take (yes the philo department suckkkksss this semester. And most of my favourite lecturers are gone/on a break/etc.).

This is kinda belated, but Facebook has been temperamental lately. I can’t tag, and people can’t seem to watch the video there.

• I have sat through a 22 hour bus ride with her, in India.

I was just cleaning my room with the air-con on, the speakers playing music from Grey’s Anatomy and I sat down and I looked around and smiled and thought, “I can’t wait for this room to be mine!”

My brother is getting married this December and moving out.

Finally, after 23 years, I’m going to have my own room. :) No more sleep disturbances, no more smelly deodorants, no more silent Skype calls in the middle of the night.

Just look at them they are already mugging in the first week of school when I still haven’t gotten any readings yet!!!

I can foresee this to be a very stressful semester.

I know I have been going on and on about the late Yasmin Ahmad and it is only because there is so much in her that I respect. If you (still) have no idea who she is and what kind of movies she makes, at least spare 15 minutes watching this video.

The greatest challenge is not out there, but within yourself.

I hate that my kitchen is under renovation right now because:
1) We haven’t had homecooked meal in a while and
2) THERE IS NO WASHING MACHINE HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO WASH MY GYM BUSOK CLOTHES? (Don’t even suggest hand-washing. I got better things to do.)

So Danie left for Sweden yesterday.

And I already miss her. I can’t help but be worried everytime I wonder what’s going on with her over there, and with a story like this, who wouldn’t be? A panz is a panz, but okaylah, street cred UP abit.

Tonight before I sleep, I just want to say that I am a bit sad. I have no idea why though. Something’s bugging me. Or maybe a lot of things are. And I’m tired, tired of trying to make everything okay.

I hope your day was better though. I hope you got the good karma for the day. Birthday girls get that.

I’ve been meaning to post pictures and tell stories (I have a lot to tell) but this static interference in my mind is too overbearing. I miss talking to you.

I’m back for a weekend with abrasions and muscle aches. I’m sick of playing mind games with morons and vomited blood at their still-childish behaviours (if only I counted the number of times I rolled my eyes and gave a secret bitch face). I literally fell sick and coughed blood, I want to get better before heading outfield for 3 days next week. I couldn’t even enjoy my McSpicy meal just now – just when I thought I could eat fries with a vengeance. This doesn’t feel like reservist at all. It feels like army never ended for me.

But I like my bunk. First time ever!

I’m waiting for my laundry to be done, going to concuss in bed, and hoping to meet some friends tomorrow before heading back to frolic in the jungle.

I feel like a kid going back to school after a long holiday.
