I received an email from the National University of Singapore Office of Admissions and they have invited me for a talk regarding early matriculation for returning national servicemen offered a place there. That is to say instead of starting school in August like everybody else, we “returning national servicemen” get to start earlier, sometime in May due to the shortened NS period.
I was mildly excited upon receiving the email. It re-confirms the fact that I have got accepted to NUS, something to look forward to after army, and I really am looking forward to start school again. 2 years of mingling with morons is enough. Give me stuck-up intellectuals anyday.
I have sorta made up my mind quite sometime ago not to go with the early intake programme. I mean, I’ve had enough interaction with guys (moronic or otherwise) for the past 2 years. I don’t need to go through my freshmen orientation with another bunch of testosterone-driven people. And I just can’t stand it when people start comparing notes about their army life. Gag me with a fork.
So I’ll start school in August thank you very much. And besides, it gives me more time to work and travel and do the things I love.
